Plastic Man, also known as Eel O'Brian, is a fictional superhero from DC Comics. Created by Jack Cole, he first appeared in *Police Comics* #1 (August 1941).
O'Brian was a common crook who, during a botched robbery, was doused with an unknown chemical substance. This substance dramatically altered his physiology, granting him incredible elasticity and malleability.
Instead of continuing his life of crime, O'Brian chose to use his newfound abilities for good. Adopting the identity of Plastic Man, he became a crime fighter.
Plastic Man's powers allow him to stretch, bend, and reshape his body into almost any form imaginable. This makes him a formidable and unpredictable opponent. He is also known for his lighthearted and comedic personality, which sets him apart from many other superheroes.
